Interactive virtual aquarium

Interactive installation where visitors create a unique sea creature that will inhabit a virtual aquarium full of underwater life.

Visitors are encouraged to design their own marine animal on paper and scan them, experiencing how they come to life and integrate into this expansive ecosystem, where every life form interacts with each other, maintaining an ever-changing balance.

To bring life into this 10 meter long aquarium, 7.000 unique fishes roam freely forming schools that organically react to the rest of the fauna and the environment. For this, a flocking system is created and updated in real-time using Unity’s Jobs system and Burst compiler.

Project developed with Things Happen studio for the PixelZoo Ocean immersive exhibition in Zurich and Geneva.
