Dreaming machine

Thousands of images are produced and distributed every second, at a faster rate that we can consume, creating an endless stream of visual content. However, these images are exhaustively analysed by a plethora of surveillance softwares, extracting detailed information from them. In this enormous amount of fast consumed content, these images can be “seen” by more software bots than persons. We could see our pictures as produced for image analysis programs rather than our “friends” or “followers”.

 

Dreaming machine is a bot analysing images uploaded to Twitter. Every four hours, a new image emerges from the fragments of the analysed data, as a daydream of its restless effort consuming this endless social feed. Find it here
